The ownership of this NYC hotel has undergone many changes. It went to the Unification Church in the year- 1975 in lieu of just $5,000,000 or more. The hotel went many under changes then which were made to accommodate most of the church needs. The hotel was re sold again in 1990 and fell in the hands of the Ramada franchise. Although its official name is the Ramada New Yorker, people prefer to refer to it as still the New Yorker Hotel.
New Yorker hotel still holds the prestigious position of being the largest NYC hotel. With more than 2500 rooms, New Yorker has the coolest dance bars, sweetest ballrooms, private wings, secluded dining rooms and a team consisting of the top 35 chefs in the world. New Yorker hotel has many private as well public eating venues with classic and sizzling restaurant areas.
New York hotel earlier had the largest barbershop in the world managing 40 people simultaneously. Ever since its opening, the hotel has been a favorite resting place of famous politicians, actors and musicians such as Spencer Tracy, Nikola Tesla and Fidel Castro.
New Yorker hotel after construction had a power plant far enough to attend to its personal usage. This powerhouse had steam boilers that consumed coal along with powerful of generators. As a result, more than 2200 kilowatts could be generated by this power source producing electric power. This was the largest power supply in the whole of USA until authorities forced them to tab into the local power system and shut it down.
In 1994, the Management group of New Yorker Hotel decided to renovate the place and ever since has made many changes to the place. The hotel managed to add extra 700 rooms for renting out. New Yorker hotel provides excellent room service with a team of efficient employees. New Yorker hotel has modern furnishings, stylish furniture and decorative walls with a high hygienic level in all areas of the place.
